I’m just going to say it: I (Maddie) spend an embarrassing amount of time on Google Earth. As a photographer, my brain is basically a Pinterest board that never sleeps. While I’m usually perfectly content behind my desk with a large coffee and a quiet edit, there are a few places on this side of the pond that make my “introverted but secretly obsessed” heart beat a little too fast.
We haven’t checked these off the list yet, but we are so ready. If you’re planning a wedding or elopement in any of these spots, consider this my official “put me in, coach” speech. Jared and I will bring the hype, professional gear, and the quiet calm you need when the views are this loud.

Disclaimer: While we haven’t had the opportunity to photograph weddings here just yet, we’re completely in love with these locations. The images shared below are stock photos used for inspiration- and we’re counting down the day we get to capture a VVM couple here one day.
1. Copper Rose Ranch | Livingston, Montana
There is something about Montana that feels like a deep breath. Copper Rose Ranch is nestled right in Paradise Valley, and the vibes are unmatched. We’re talking a 100 year old renovated barn that perfectly balances “rustic” with “actually very chic,” featuring antique french chandeliers and mountain views from every window.
- The Vision: I can already see the portraits at golden hour with the mountains as the backdrop.
- Why We Love It: It’s intimate. It’s quiet. It’s got that “Big Sky” energy that makes every photo feel like a cinematic masterpiece.

2. Grand Teton National Park | Wyoming
If you want to feel small in the best way possible, this is it. The Tetons don’t just sit there; they command the frame. Whether it’s the iconic reflections at Schwabacher Landing or the rugged history of mormon Row, every inch of this park is a core memory waiting to happen.
- 2026 Pro-Tip: Heads up- Mormon Row is closed for ceremony permits after May 15, 2026, due to construction, but photography is still allowed. Most large site-specific locations are already full for 2026, so “Small Dispersed” permits for 12 people or fewer are the way to go.
- The Vision: An early morning “First Look” when the peaks turn pink with alpenglow.
- Why We Love It: It’s for the adventurous souls. It’s raw, it’s rugged, and the lighting is a photographer’s fever dream.

3. The Trillium Venue | Sevierville, Tennessee
Forget the desert– I’m dreaming of the “Blue Smoke” of the East. The Trillium Venue is perched atop Bluff Mountain, offering a 180- degree panoramic view of the Great Smoky Mountains. It’s a luxurious, modern mountaintop escape that feels like you’re standing on the edge of the world.
- The Vision: Sunset portraits at the “Knoll Overlook” where the ridges turn deep shades of indigo, followed by dancing under the stars on the open-air patio.
- Why We Love It: It’s the perfect mix of high-end elegance and wild, natural beauty. The Grand Hall features floor to ceiling glass doors that bring the mountains inside, making it a dream for clean, light-filled photography.

4. San Sophia Overlook | Telluride, Colorado
This is the peak of Colorado luxury, quite literally. Accessible only by gondola, the San Sophia Overlook sits at 10,500 feet and looks down over the town of Telluride and the jagged peaks of the San Juan Mountains. It’s dramatic, it’s alpine, and it’s completely unforgettable.
- The Vision: A high-altitude ceremony where the clouds feel close enough to touch, followed by the gondola ride back down for an intimate, candlelit reception.
- Why We Love It: It’s the “Switzerland of America” vibe. The verticality of the mountains here creates a scale that you just cant find anywhere else in the states.
